G’day, I’m Darren, and I’m the third generation Green to run this store. My grandfather Norm first opened up here back in the ‘60’s, and my Dad Roy ran the business for 35 years before he passed it on to me a few years ago.

What does that mean for our customers?  Just that I’ve been living hardware since I was a little tacker, I learned from the best, and if something comes up that I don’t know I can still call my Dad and ask his advice.

My kids are learning hardware the hard way – from me – so if you see a junior Green running around the store, you know they’ll be happy to help you out.

We’ve been MAKIT Members since day one, and we’re proud to be a part of the MAKIT team because to my family and me, it really is the best job in the world.

Our Store

Our customers come from all over. We have a lot of folks coming in from the country and semi-rural areas around Armadale as well as a lot of tradies and DIYers, so we carry a pretty wide range of gear. Along with the usual home handyman gear and things you’ll need to make minor repairs to your home, our stock covers...

There’s plenty of parking close to our Commerce Avenue store, and if you need a hand to carry your purchases to the car, we’re there to help. (Actually the kids will be there to help, but if they aren’t, I’ll carry your shopping for you.)

Our Community Involvement

We’ve been a part of the Armadale community for a long time and we’ve seen it grow from a sleepy country town to a modern city.

We’re keen supporters of the local Forrestdale Junior Football Club, and every year we sponsor a team in the Avon Descent.
